Charleston Municipal Golf Course, Front 9 and Back 9 Courses
Both courses are 9-hole, regulation length courses with a par 72 only 7 miles from the center of Charleston. They are open to the public and located on James Island. Situated on 120 acres of land between the Stono River and historic Riverland Terrace, which is one of James Island’s oldest neighborhoods. The ‘Muni’, as locals call it, has terrific views and challenging play for golfers at every skill level, having well-groomed fairways and greens. Westcott Golf Club, Oak Forest Course
Westcott Golf Club, Oak Forest Course is a 9-hole over 3,563 yards course with a par of 36. As a Municipal Golf Course, it is open to the public. It is located 10 miles from the center of Charleston in Summerville, SC. The Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Each course has lush vegetation with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses.

The course winds along the Intracoastal Waterway through wetlands and lagoons and through a pine and oak tree forest with some of the best views on the coast.
Crowfield Golf Club
Crowfield Golf Club is an 18-hole course over 7,003 yards with a par of 72 Semi-Private Golf Course that is open to the public and offering memberships. Located 11 miles from the center of Charleston. This course is very challenging, having multiple terrain features and diverse greens. This may be the best public course in the Charleston area. Red Bank Plantation Golf Course
Red Bank Plantation Golf Course is a military, 18-hole golf course over 5,382 yards with a par of 70 designed by Military Personnel. It is located only 8 miles from the center of Charleston, South Carolina, in Goose Creek within the gates of Joint Base Charleston, Weapons Station. The course is open to the public without having to be accompanied by an authorized patron when you apply for a Golf Patron Pass and pay a modest application processing fee. The golf course winds through 125 acres of rolling Lowcountry terrain of huge live oaks with hanging moss and views of the Cooper River. At any time of the day, you can find osprey, eagles, wild turkey, fox, whitetail deer and an abundance of alligators on the course.

Wrenwoods Golf Course at Charleston Air Force Base is an 18-hole regulation length course in Joint Base Charleston, restricted to military, DoD and retirees is only 5 miles from Charleston.
